Teranode – Scalable Layer 1 Bitcoin technology for global usage

Teranode, the groundbreaking blockchain upgrade announced by The BSV Association (BSVA) in Zug, Switzerland, is set to propel the BSV Blockchain to operate at speeds exceeding 1.1 million transactions per second (TPS). This technological advancement opens up new possibilities for enterprise and government customers, expanding the scope of blockchain use cases.

The technical testing phase of Teranode is officially underway, marking a significant milestone for the BSV Blockchain. While leading blockchains have thus far offered stable service at transaction speeds measured in the tens of thousands TPS, Teranode is poised to shatter these limitations. This breakthrough removes barriers, allowing for faster transaction volumes that were previously unattainable, particularly in sectors with high transaction demands, such as identity and medical data management.

Dr. Craig S. Wright’s original vision for Bitcoin in 2008 aimed for unbounded scalability, surpassing existing transaction throughput capabilities. Teranode is set to fulfill this vision by enabling mass transactions on the BSV Blockchain, liberating it from transaction limits. The BSV network will achieve unprecedented stability in handling transaction volumes, potentially supporting a transaction volume at least 10 times higher than the combined capacities of Visa and MasterCard networks, and doing so at a significantly lower cost.

Beyond financial transactions, Teranode will empower the BSV Blockchain to process vast amounts of data, facilitating data indexing, broadcast services, and laying the groundwork for a more private and ownership-centric internet experience. This aligns with the principles laid out in Dr. Craig Wright’s papers from nearly two decades ago, providing enhanced protection for private data, personal content, and intellectual property rights through timestamp verification.

Teranode’s capabilities extend to ensuring proper functioning of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications with verifiable and auditable information. It seamlessly integrates with Web3.0 and the IPv6 upgrade, positioning the BSV Blockchain at the forefront of technological innovation.

The BSVA, in collaboration with Aerospike, a renowned industry leader in real-time, high-performance NoSQL databases, will conduct geographically distributed testing of Teranode across North America, Europe, and Asia over the next two to six months. The objective is to maximize TPS without compromising network stability, ensuring that Teranode transforms the BSV Blockchain into a stable and secure protocol, suitable for the evolving demands of modern enterprise use.

Siggi Oskarsson, Teranode Director at BSV Association, expressed the commitment to unlock the full potential of the BSV Blockchain. He emphasized that Teranode, with its unparalleled scalability and support for safe and instant transactions, has the potential to be the next-generation upgrade for a public blockchain, facilitating complete enterprise and governmental adoption.

Aerospike’s expertise in real-time, high-performance NoSQL databases ensures the efficiency and scalability needed to adhere to the Bitcoin protocol while accommodating the expanding use cases of enterprise blockchain. Ivan Maier, Regional Manager Central Europe at Aerospike, conveyed confidence that their technology would consistently deliver high performance as the BSV platform scales from gigabytes to petabytes.

Teranode represents a significant enhancement for BSV, a goal pursued since 2018, showcasing the ongoing commitment to advancing blockchain technology. For more information about Teranode, visit the official website, and to monitor the analytics tool used in the testing phase, follow it here.
